Enhancing Electrical Substation Security with Unattended Ground Sensors

A leading utility operator entrusted IWT to implement an advanced perimeter monitoring solution for one of their most critical assets: an electrical substation. This project aimed to enhance security and safety by employing state-of-the-art Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS) to protect this essential infrastructure.  IWT’s UGS have advanced classification algorithms enabling them to recognize and appropriately classify footsteps (human vs. animal), vehicles movements, and digging or tunneling.
