Innovative Wireless Technologies (IWT) was founded in 1997 by former employees of GE/Ericsson and Motorola to fill a need in the public sector for state-of-the-art wireless communication solutions.
Headquartered in Forest, Virginia for 15 years, IWT moved to Lynchburg, Virginia in August 2012 to accommodate its growing business and need for additional space. The current headquarters provides 40,000 sq. ft. of space and is in the heart of downtown Lynchburg. Today, IWT has additional customer service facilities in Beckley, WV, Morgantown, WV, Indiana, and Colorado, as well as an engineering subsidiary, Device Solutions, in Morrisville, NC.
IWT headquarters has the interesting history of being the former home of the Lynchburg Circuit Court and regional FBI. The space has since been modernized and transformed into business offices, laboratories, spaces for collaboration, and a full production and repair center for IWT equipment.
Our engineering design team is dedicated to solving customer problems, whether it is using one of our existing products, creating a turnkey custom-engineered solution, or augmenting your team with additional hard-to-find capabilities.
IWT engineers have the skills and experience to translate system level requirements into component level specifications. Regardless of the model of the engagement, we’ll apply the same attention to detail to ensure that technical, budgeting, and scheduling requirements are met.
Established as an engineering services provider, engineering is still at our core. While other equipment manufacturers have to outsource for engineering services, IWT has a full contingent of RF systems and design, hardware, software, and applications engineers.
IWT’s engineering capabilities are further strengthened by Device Solutions, our subsidiary engineering firm specializing in wireless, embedded and connected technologies.
The engineering teams work closely with our product marketing, project managers and operations teams to provide the solutions our customers need.
IWT’s operations encompasses production, repair and support. IWT is the OEM for IWT’s SENTINEL™ product line and manufacturers and repairs the majority of our products at our Lynchburg headquarters.
The operations team is also there to support our customers onsite and remotely, providing turn-key installation, training and support.
