Innovating for More Than 19 years
Innovative Wireless Technologies (IWT) was founded in 1997 as a spin-off from GE/Ericsson. Headquartered in Forest, Virginia for 15 years, IWT moved to Lynchburg, Virginia in August of 2012 to accommodate its growing business and need for additional space. The current headquarters provides 40,000 sq. ft. of space and is in the heart of downtown Lynchburg. Today IWT is recognized as a world leader in wireless mesh networks, mine safety communications and tracking, and unattended security applications.
Innovative Wireless Technologies, Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a Phase 2 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract through the U.S. Department of Energy for environmental monitoring sensors. This award is a follow-on to a DOE SBIR Phase 1 contract in which IWT partnered with Virginia Tech to successfully demonstrate the feasibility of its Integrated Environmental Quality Sensing (IEQS) system which utilizes IWT’s patented three-tier mesh architecture to create a highly-scalable IoT sensor mesh network and big data processing system for large scale environmental monitoring applications.
